The Future Now grand launch

This Friday 16th September at Egg London

Once London's clubbing hub - with The Key, The Cross and Canvas all serving thousands of clubbers each week - Kings Cross was gutted three years ago by the greedy knives of re-developers eager to turn the site they were on into luxury flats. Then the recession struck and the game changed...

Having proved there’s nothing like the bungling of a Tory government to stimulate people’s desire to dance (thanks Mrs Thatcher for the explosion of rave), King’s Cross is in renaissance mode. Having already seen the opening of Mulletover promoter Rob Star’s new club pub, The Star of Kings, the superbly kitted out Egg is stepping forward to offer a night unlike any other in London.

Launching on Friday 16th September (this weekend) The Future Now, run by underground club promoter, DJ and producer Jim Warboy, offers a mix of peerless music and outre fashion with sounds, spanning disco and house to the latest bass sounds, complimented by outrageous performers.

Get Physical’s techno legend Thomas Schumacher, who recently mixed the ‘Get Physical 8’ compilation, is flying over to headline the main room alongside Terminal M’s Erman Erim playing one of his storming live sets.

In the second room meanwhile, Greemoney, the complimentary pairing of Bugz in the Attic’s Alex Phountzi and YoYo’s Leo Greenslade, bring their percussive UK funky flex alongside Capracara whose acid house and garage influenced production have seen him release on everyone from Sinden's Grizzly to DFA.

That’s not all however, with the garden repping a line-up including Princess Julia, one of the original Blitz Kids alongside Marc Almond and Boy George, plus live sculpture, performances, wearable art and more.

With forthcoming line-ups offering a similarly forward-thinking mix of names, get your advance tickets here and step into The Future Now.
