Deep Dish Space Out

Washington duo Deep Dish have proved that they are truly out there - they've made a tune for their space travelling buddy.

Deep Dish have always been known for spaced-out prog house but now the duo can truly live up to their names as the deepest DJs in the cosmos - after creating a track to commemorate their friend's trip into deep space.

Anousheh Ansari, who's buddies with Sharem from Deep Dish, became the world's first female private space traveller when she took off from Russia's Baikonur cosmodrome, in Kazakhstan, on 18th September.

Space Trip

She is the first Muslim woman to reach space and the International Space Station.

Anousheh Ansari asked Deep Dish to make her a tune in honour of her trip

Ansari intends for her trip to bring inspiration to young people around the world to pursue their dreams, and she asked Sharam to provide a musical score to honour her mission.

"Anousheh has demonstrated that no dream is too big when you put your heart and soul into it," said Sharam.

"My challenge and joy was to create a track that captures the spirit of her mission."

Be The Change

The resulting tune, 'Be The Change', features classical strings, swirly synths and is, well, the perfect soundtrack for a trip with your butt strapped to a big fat rocket.

"By reaching this dream I've had since childhood I hope to tangibly demonstrate to young people all over the world that there is no limit to what they can accomplish," said
the ambitious Ansari.

'Be the Change' can be heard on www.anoushehansari.com and www.deepdish.com and will also be released as a single.

All profits from the recording will go to non-profit organisations including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, X Prize Foundation and the Ashoka Foundation.
