Let's go Loco!

Legendary Leeds night to celebrate 5th birthday this Halloween

Can it only be five years since Ketoloco set up in a Leeds basement dubbed “DC15” after its house number?

Just two years after painting their living room red and inviting their mates to pay homage to their favourite Ibiza afterhours abode (DC10) every weekend, the Ketoloco lads were already throwing warehouse parties up and down the UK with the likes of Clive Henry, Shonky and Ralph Lawson bringing the heavy tech beats. Dropping parties across various venues through the intervening years, the time has come to celebrate their Fifth Birthday on Saturday 29th October at The Warehouse and, judging by the line-up, it promises to be a testament to the night’s constantly progressing booking policy.

Solomun and David August — two of Hamburg’s most proactive minds in house and the musical string-pullers of the Diynamic imprint — Parisian house honcho Jef K and London’s newbie disco don Jozif are bookings which altogether paint a picture of how stripped-back minimal thumping and rolling percussive tech house is no longer going to suffice in a day and age where underground house and techno aches with soul, shimmers with the glint of a glitter ball and unrelentingly peers into the cosmos, especially in Leeds, a city consistently in touch with the dynamic movements of cutting-edge dance music.

It may have been born from the era of minimal techno mania, but now, Ketoloco has come into its own.
