Best of British 2011 Awards

A plethora of underground talent announced for Awards Party

No DJ Mag poll would be complete without a good ol’ fashioned knees up to accompany it, and with our gargantuan Top 100 DJs party in Amsterdam safely behind us, it’s time to pay homage to who we view as the most significant string-pullers at work beneath arguably the most musically evolving nation in the world – Britain.

Whether its house with a bass twist, the ever-burgeoning dnb scene or rapid mutation within the fertile grassroots of post-dubstep and beyond, you can find it within the rammed clubs, warehouses and lofts of the UK, week in, week out – and our Best of British poll is our little way of raising our glass to exactly that.

Voting for the best DJ, producer, label, single, album, compilation and more (full nominations here), drawn from a list of nominees including the likes of Jamie Jones, Scuba, Maya Jane Coles, Ben UFO, Spencer Parker, Lone, Mosca, Blawan, T.Williams and Jamie xx, has now been closed and the votes have been counted.

Winners will be announced at Shoreditch party pad East Village on Wednesday 14th December as part of an awards ceremony hosted by Jaymo & Andy George, where a hand-picked selection of the nominees will DJ (line-up below) until after 2am. If there was ever a reason to be patriotic, this is it!
