Defected NYE

Defected pulls out the big guns for NYE

Simon Dunmore’s Defected Records is so synonymous with house that it may as well be fashioned from bricks and mortar and used as a dwelling. Since 1999 they’ve straddled the worlds of commercial and underground dance music, bothering the top 40 as regularly as RA DJ charts, and taken their Defected In The House parties to clubbers around the world.

This New Year’s Eve they’re bringing their signature brand of soulful, sexy grooves to London’s Electric Brixton, drafting in some of house music’s most distinctive names for what will no doubt prove a sleek way to usher in 2013. Regular Defected contributor and Grammy-nominee Dennis Ferrer leads the proceedings, with Swiss multi-deck wizard and recent Essential Mix guest Deetron also stepping up to the wheels of steel.

Support comes from Noir, whose eponymous label has grabbed the house world by the scruff of the neck over the last couple of years. His collaboration with Haze on ‘Around’ has been as ubiquitous as deep Vs, and its recent re-release on Defected with remixes from Subb-an, Solomun and Murk will no doubt extend its shelf life even further. Rounding out proceedings, head honcho Simon Dunmore and Sam Divine will be showcasing the label’s phenomenally successful sound. Expect a lot of groove.
