Stanton FinalScratch Open

Stanton announce a price drop for FinalScratch 2 in Feb/March, along with a new concept which bring the ScratchAmp to the masses at a discount too.

Stanton have released news of a new concept based on their existing hardware interface, the ScratchAmp 2.

Since splitting with Native Instruments, Stanton is left without a software developer to expand and improve the FinalScratch software, currently licensed from NI.

As far as current users are concerned, everything carries on as normal. Support for Traktor FS 2 is now with Stanton and we have no doubt that they have plans up their sleeves to develop their own software in due course.

But to make the best out of what is a very good soundcard, the new FinalScratch Open concept simply seeks to bring the excellent ScratchAmp interface to the masses, at a reduced price of £299.

A major selling point of the ScratchAmp 2 has always been that it can be used as a soundcard for any other computer application; such as studio sequencers, iTunes, and other DJ software.

DJs can now make a decision on what software to use according to budget and required features, while acquiring a soundcard that will work as well in the DJ domain as it will in a modest bedroom studio.

Stanton has also now opened the Final Scratch format, allowing all software companies to take advantage of the FS time code. They hope to make FinalScratch the cross software standard for vinyl control.

Further news comes on February the 1st when they will slash the prices of the FinalScratch 2 system from £529, to £399.
