THE JOYS OF PLEX

Maceo Plex has been a busy bee of late judging by the amount of musical honey coming from his hive of activity/studio.

There's no spreading himself thin on the quality front though (hell yeah, we kept the honey analogy going in a new paragraph). First up there's his new sleazy, vocodered Jupiter Jazz project alongside Danny Daze, which sees their 'Booty Jazz' EP drop on his own Ellum Audio label on the 4th of March. That's followed on the 30th April by Maceo's inauguration into K7's celebrated DJ-Kicks series. Recorded mostly from vinyl-only releases from the last twenty years, many of them re-edited to flow in the mix, the tracklist is an intriguing mix of dark, futuristic electro and house, including an exclusive Maceo Plex track, 'Galactic Cinema'. Some time has clearly been taken putting it together, meaning we can't wait to get our hands on a finished copy.

Catch him touring throughout March in Europe and the US and you'll no doubt hear him dropping some of the tracks in person.
