BRAZIL: MOB

Clubbing cruise Music On Board sets sail Friday

High-roller clubbing isn’t a particularly new concept, but it’s definitely one that’s gained momentum in recent times thanks to the EDM explosion Stateside, and specifically, in Las Vegas. Brazil’s Music On Board (MOB) crew, meanwhile, has been busy bringing more than a touch of class to their own country’s electronic music landscape for the past six years — even at sea!

The seventh instalment of the MOB showcase takes place on Friday 8th March, setting sail from Santos Port in Brazil, with 2000 revellers set to join in on the fun. This year’s cruise liner of choice is the suitably extravagant Splendour of the Seas, and it’s one that’s precisely in keeping with the wealth of house and techno inclined goodness on offer.

With the boat itself set to simply follow the sun for two days and three nights of parties, it should all make for quite a spectacle, even more so when we consider a line-up that features Diynamic boss Solomon and his label cohort David August, house heroes Roger Sanchez and Felix da Housecat, as well as prominent members of the underground such as Andrew Grant, Renato Ratier, The Martinez Brothers and a host of other big names. Clubbing brands such as Circoloco and Green Valley will also host their own parties on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

With 20 projects on the go over the three nights and a 50-hour party packed schedule, MOB is a party that’s perhaps not best suited to the faint-hearted. Brazil’s party people, however, will embrace this one with open arms once again.
