Banjee Boy Realness return to the East End's pioneering Dalston Superstore on Friday 5th April with more annihilating rhythms and a special guest who has been at the forefront of club culture since the UK’s acid house explosion.
Inspired by seminal clubs Shoom and Spectrum, Leo Zero’s discography stretches back to the early ‘90s. From cult disco label Easter Bay – big with Harvey and The Idjut Boys – to pop success as part of Chicane, or as the Lou Reed/Bowie remixing Dab Hands, he’s helped shape the landscape of dance music, also running legendary club Soulsonic alongside Stewart Patterson, with whom he set up Faith – the house fanzine, party and label - alongside Terry Farley, Bill Brewster and Dave Jarvis. A talented designer too, he designed classic flyers for the likes of Junior Boys Own and Heavenly Records. More recently, he released the albums ‘Acid Life’ and 'Chops' and continues with his studio work, including edits and remixes for everyone from Lana Del Rey to Marshall Jefferson.
He’ll be dipping deep into his record collection to join residents Josh Caffe and Joe Robots in bringing a set steeped in house history, both old and fresh from the studio desk.
Upstairs, Wednesday night DSS residents White Leather Viper Club take up a deserved prime weekend slot with residents Emma Rudge and Will Croxford joind by Dalston Superstore co-founder Mikki Most. Expect to hear everything from disco and leftfield house to post punk and mutant pop.
