MONEGROS DESERT FESTIVAL 2013

Names announced for Spanish desert dance fest

The Monegros Desert Festival has remained a staple of Spain's clubbing calendar for some time now. Established in 1994, it has since gone on to become Spain's — if not one of the world's — most exciting one-day festival, at least where electronic music is concerned.

Of course, the sheer scale of the music on offer at Monegros has always played a focal role in it success, and this year's edition is absolutely no different in that regard. What's more, it's also dizzyingly eclectic, and in spite of the fact that house and techno are the most prevalent sounds, Monegros also finds time to incorporate everything from hip-hop to dnb to dubstep into one heady concoction.

So, without further ado, what of the music on offer? Well, the 40,000 strong crowd will be treated to another veritable array of A-list talent, which includes live sets from Underworld, The Bloody Beetroots and Vitalic and hip-hop royalty Public Enemy. There'll also be DJ sets from the likes of Luciano, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice, while tough b2b techno sets from Adam Beyer and Joseph Capriati are sure to be seen (and heard) to be believed.

Spanish DJ Paco Osuna will close the action alongside his fellow countrymen, with all the action going down on Saturday 20th July this year. It's sure to be one hell of a party.
