TIGA & AUDION GO DANCING

Matthew Dear revealed as producer of Tiga's new album

Canadian techno darling Tiga has just unleashed his new track 'Let's Go Dancing', produced in conjunction with Matthew Dear, aka Audion. It's building up to be a sizeable club hit this autumn, and that's before the big remix package — which sees versions coming from Maya Jane Coles, Solomun and Breach — arrives in early November.

Without breaking many boundaries for originality, 'Let's Go Dancing' is a lesson in techno simplicity. A rubbery 4/4 beat, little fills and continuous synth bursts all build up to a computerised vocal that intones: “Let's go dancing, I wanna go dancing with you, all-night dancing.” Sparse and minimalist in places, it receives more meat on its bones courtesy of cavernous Teutonic sounds as the nine-minute track progresses.

The vocal comes from Tiga himself, a frequent contributor of vocals to his own tracks over the years, although it could just as equally have been by Matthew Dear who has stepped out front to do vocals himself in the past couple of years. 'Let's Go Dancing' is set to be one of the tracks that helps usher in a new era for techno, and has already received support from Erol Alkan, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Sasha and Duke Dumont amongst others.

Matthew Dear also produced Tiga's 'Plush' track last year, and is revealed to be the main producer on Tiga's next album, expected in 2014.

Tiga is also hosting a panel at this year's ADE under the banner The Dance World According To Tiga, which will be discussing the commercialisation of dance music. The panel also involves Dubfire, Martyn and Seth Troxler and takes place on Thursday 17th October at 1.30pm.
