The latest in DJ & Production Technology

This year's NAMM music conference in sunny LA was a hot bed for manufacturers to show off their wares and gives a perfect insight for what is in store for the masses during 2014. These are the top 5 releases that had everyone talking!

Pioneer DDJ-SZ
This new offering from Pioneer is the daddy of Serato Controllers in fact it is probably one of the most feature-rich pro DJ/club controllers on the market, period. Taking the technology, styling cues and many of its features from Pioneers industry standard CDJ-2000nexus and DJM-900nexus range the DDJ-SZ was one of the hottest properties of the show.

Pioneer RMX-500
Staying with all things Pioneer, the Remix Station 500 was also getting a lot of love. A compact FX unit For DJs who prefer to stick to CDJs but are looking for a way to add some flair to their sets. The RMX-500 looks similar to the RMX-1000 and puts a multitude of controls at DJ's fingertips

Allen & Heath Xone:23
Hard to call this a budget mixer as it features a lot of the components, technology and functions seen in the top of the range DB4, however this two-channel mixer is great for battle DJs or those who want a no-nonsense, basic configured mixer. Allen & Heath know how to make good sounding mixers and this one is a pure treat.

UAD Apollo Twin
UAD make top of the range soundcards and plugins for the recording and production community. They have now released the Apollo Twin range of soundcards aimed at the travelling DJ/Producer who need high-end studio equipment with a compact footprint. The Twin is packed full of features and was causing a stir on the UAD stand.

Roland's New Production Gear

The demonstration room for Roland's new kit was one of the hottest invites to have as Roland unveiled four new products to a very select few. We can’t‚ say much as we've been sworn to secrecy, however the rumours are correct in that these four new units capture the essence of Roland that made them favourites of the dance music community with their original 303 808 and 909 drum and groove machines.
