EXIT FEST'S BACK-TO-BACK SPECIALS

Acclaimed Serbian fest announces first tag-team names

The award-winning Exit Festival in Serbia has just announced its first set of names to commemorate 15 years of dance acts at the event.

Disclosure, Paul Woolford, Carl Craig, Green Velvet, Dusky and Jackmaster have just been revealed as performing at Exit, joining Rudimental, Skrillex and Dub FX who had already been announced.

Exit Festival grew out of a democratic protest movement in the year 2000. Young people were protesting about the brutal regime of Slobodan Milosevic and holding lengthy music events for 100 days over the summer of 2000. After Milosevic was defeated in elections in the former Yugoslavian territory in September 2000, Exit moved into the Petrovaradin Fortress for its 2001 event — where it remains to this day.

Dance acts like Kosheen and 4-Hero played the 2001 event, with Darren Emerson, LTJ Bukem, Erick Morillo and Lottie DJing at the 2002 edition alongside main stage acts such as Fun-Da-Mental, Asian Dub Foundation and Roni Size. Since then, many DJs have made the trip to play Exit.

To celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2009, Exit brought back some of their favourite DJs to play back to back sets — and they are repeating this exercise for 2014, to commemorate their 15th anniversary.

Detroit legend Carl Craig will go back-to-back with Chicago hero Green Velvet. UK DJ/producer par excellence Paul Woolford with go b2b with house newcomers Dusky, while Jackmaster and Oneman will be bringing their Can U Dance concept to Exit.

In addition, UK garage dons Disclosure will bring their Wild Life concept to the festival on Thursday July 10th, showcasing performers they like as well as playing live themselves. The 25,000-strong dance arena is one of the biggest in the world, and a sight to behold.

Exit takes place from July 10th — 13th at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, and then the adventure continues at Sea Dance Festival from July 15th — 17th at the Adriatic Jaz Beach in Montenegro.

Tickets are £115. More info here
