Body & Soul hits London

New York's legendary club night Body & Soul is coming to London for the very first time on the 14th July.

Canvas in King's Cross Freight Depot, London will be transformed to fully reflect the true spirit of the U.S. dance music mecca.

And it wouldn't be complete without the innovative DJs that first launched the club. The funky triumvirate of Danny Krivit, François K & Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell will all be zooming in to make the dancefloor erupt in fine style.

Launching Body & Soul in 1996, three of the seminal architects of dance music decided to combine brains to conceive the ultimate club. The first time that all three had played together, Body & Soul would become known for its open-minded music policy, incredible vibe and soulful ethos. Having rinsed out New York, the club has since toured Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Japan and will now hit the UK with their upcoming debut on Saturday 14th July.

Along with the DJs, Body & Soul will also be flying in their legendary lighting technician Ariel who'll be ensuring the atmosphere remains electric all night, as the DJs take revelers on an epic nine hour trek into the deepest realms of boogie imaginable.

Joaquin 'Joe' Clausell is one of the most prominent figures of the NYC dance music underground. His role as remixer, head honcho of Spiritual Life Records, producer and of course DJ have seen him have an immeasurable impact on dance music, incorporating Latin, jazz and all manner of world rhythms into his funky brew.

Francois K's contribution as an architect of electro funk is currently being felt once again, as his Prelude productions and remixes from the early and mid 80s are presently having a massive influence on club music. But his tireless invention didn't stop there, with his Wave Music imprint remaining one of the most important American labels, and his current dub and deep techno excavations going off wherever he plays.

The last piece of the puzzle is Danny Krivit, whose dancefloor notoriety began at the ultimate disco flashpoint The Loft, and has since seen him become renowned as a remixer, rare music authority and DJ of 30 years standing.
