SHINDIG CELEBRATES WITH SVEN

Newcastle to stage 14 hours of cutting-edge dance

Shindig, the north of England’s biggest champion of house music, is set to celebrate its 22nd birthday with a 14-hour party in central Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Taking place on bank holiday Sunday May 4th, SHINDIGXXII will see a plethora of house and techno legends split across three events.

Located at Spillers Wharf, the ByDay party will see German electronic giant Sven Väth take to the decks, alongside Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones, current king of the remix MK, dynamic duo The Martinez Brothers, Hot Since 82, Nina Kraviz and many more.

Following that, Desolat head honcho Loco Dice and Robert Dietz will play Warehouse34, whilst Sante and Sidney Charles take on TheCut, for the first ever double ByNight event.

Shindig is one of the UK’s longest running club nights, dictating Tyneside tastes since 1992. It has run in various locations in Newcastle over the years, with residents Scott Bradford and for many years Scooby booking a who's who of discerning house and techno, and for this 22nd birthday bash is filling the void left by the discontinuation of the Evolution festival this year.

Shindig director Neil Bainbridge expressed his excitement at this year’s location, saying: “This time round being able to transform the vast space on the banks of the River Tyne with festival production is a massive step-up for Shindig. Spillers Wharf allows us to present such a huge array of electronic artists across two stages and be very creative with the site set-up.”
