SECONDCITY HITS NO.1 IN THE UK CHART

Yet another house record makes it to the summit

Secondcity has become the latest UK house music producer to score a UK No.1. His track 'I Wanna Feel' was revealed to have reached the summit last night (Sunday 1st June), and is the latest house track to top the pop charts — following recent efforts by Route 94, Clean Bandit and Duke Dumont.

Secondcity, the 27-year-old known to his mum as Rowan, was born in Chicago (hence the name) and lived there until he was 12 and moved to the UK.

He's been DJing for quite a few years, and has had a couple of underground releases before 'I Wanna Feel' was picked up by Ministry.

'I Wanna Feel' samples Toni Braxton's R&B track 'You're Making Me High'.

Skream had said back in October: “This record will be No.1.” It sold 82,000 copies last week, after several DJ associates tweeted support — urging people to buy it.

The chart success is completely unexpected for Rowan. “I just wrote a record that I’d play in the clubs,” he said. “I never anticipated it, which makes it even better.”

Secondcity has EPs on Defected and Saved coming soon, and is playing various playing festivals and Ibiza dates over the summer.
