Last Call!

The UK's biggest dance music show is just around the corner with shedloads of confirmed attractions...

With only a week to go, news is still flooding in fast about DJ Live - the UK's top-class dance music industry exhibition.

DJ Live, at Earl's Court, London, on 28th & 29th June , provides your gateway into dance music. It's your

opportunity to get up close and personal with DJs and record label bosses and experiment with new kit.

There's a massive line-up confirmed for the Pioneer Pro stage, loads of UK firsts of top new gadgets and a full-on M-Audio

seminar programme to get the creative juices flowing.
Numark will be showing off the first working production model of their highly anticipated iDJ2, [design note - that's

squared] the desktop iPod/HD media player.

A £10 ticket allows admission over both days so you'll have plenty of time to check out what's on offer. Here's some

highlights...

  • Pioneer Pro Stage
  • Pioneer Pro DJ will be hosting the DJ Stage, showcasing their

impressive range of industry standard DJ gear.

On Thursday 28th June, you can catch DJmag's Best of British nominees: Deepgroove gracing the CDJs and EFXs all

    afternoon.

Friday brings the Cr2 Records crew to town, label

supremo Mark Young playing alongside Nick Corelli under their MYNC project guise. Confirmed too are Yousef and Steve Mac

playing alongside Spencer Parker and Damien Wilson.

Don't miss these guys in action.

  • e-Mix Re-Mix
  • Make sure you venture to the Citronic stand as they'll have some

    cutting-edge new gear on show.

"With all the download companies and labels at the show, we're really pushing our MP3 mixing system," revealed

    Product Development Manager, Shane Wheeler.

We reckon the new system's most exciting new feature is Automix, which acts like a sequencer for DJs.

"You can tell the software when to fade in and out, and on what bar to drop the bass," continued Wheeler. "It's

    seriously advanced stuff."

The new e-Mix software is available for free and comes with new waveform view for visual mixing, new compressors and kill EQ.

DJs can even save sonic setting for different venues!

  • Ortofon
  • There will be a flair to Ortofon's presence. They'll be showing off their new Nightclub E MkII and Arvik cartridges with showcases from top DJs and turntablists. They are also laying

on workshops demonstrating how to scratch, mix and record vinyl.

Ortofon head honcho - Wilfred Debass has pulled out the stops to hook up two seriously hot headline performances. DMC 2006

World Champion Netik will be playing on both afternoons, performing his World Title show along with some brand new routines.

And keep your eyes peeled for Style MC along with Songe Black, a really cool band made up of a DJ, a drummer and a keyboard

    player.

  • M-Audio
  • Technology giants M-Audio will officially launch their highly anticipated DJ controller, Torq - Xponent, at this year's exhibition.

The entire range of DJ products will be on show, including Torq Conectiv, X-Session Pro, Trigger Finger and more.
There's also a dedicated area for seminars where professional tutors will stage workshops on software, including Ableton

Live, Torq Xponent and Reason. M-Audio will also showcase loads more, such as ProTools M-Powered and the DJ friendly Axiom

    keyboard range.

    M-Audio's Colin Meager said:

"Whether you're a professional jock or a bedroom DJ, a total studio head or an up-and-coming producer, these software sessions will be essential and worth the cost of your ticket alone!"

  • Rainbow Ravers
  • Kam take up one of the biggest stands at the show, presenting their latest raft of new gear. One thing's for sure - Kam are no longer all about budget gear. We've had a sneak preview and there's some seriously pro kit coming your way!

The latest kit to hit the UK is their new lighting range, most notably a new pair of lights to bring some extra flash and

sparkle to a party. The LED 800s (£249) and LED 800 (£219) are driven by 684 ultra bright LEDs, divided by eight groups.

Each group can be controlled individually by various DMX modes or they can respond to the music blasting through the sound system. Both lights also feature a number of effects with room for eight pre-set programmes, as well as strobe effects with up to 50 flashes per second. They use an LCD menu control board and are available now.

Win! Win! Win

It's competition time and one lucky reader can get their mitts on M-Audio's new Torq Connectiv unit with the vinyl control

discs for digital scratching.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply name any other software application compatible with Torq Connectiv.
