PHANTASMAGORIA COMES TO BOOOM IBIZA

Dance music fans and film lovers rejoice as a fresh and immersive concept arrives on the shores of Ibiza.

Mike and Claire, founders of the island’s legendary club-night Manumission, aim to create an environment in which lovers of cinema and electronic music can indulge in a world of musical and cinematic revelry.

Set within the fictitious, noirish and futuristic blues club ‘Sexus’ (in Booom Ibiza), Phantasmagoria takes us on a journey through the weird and wonderful every Friday night throughout August. The event allows cinephiles to embrace the essence of the silver screen through the creative, musical and visual transformation of Booom.

Providing the soundtrack will be a team of highly qualified DJs including Craig Richards, Matthew Herbert (pictured), Derrick Carter, Ivan Smagghe and Skream, with award-winning visual artist Daffy interpreting the subject of ‘film’ through a complex installation of beams, screens and atmospherics. 

As if this wasn’t enough to get your senses tingling, all other nights in August will play host to ’31 Nights of Film – An Open Air Cinematic Experience’, in which cult figureheads Samantha Morton, Howard Marks, Lynne Ramsay, Skin from Skunk Anansie and Seth Troxler curate each week of outdoor film showings individually. With meats, beats and Seth Troxler’s own Smokey Tails taking a part in the proceedings, August in Ibiza is set to be a film lover's dream.

Merging the boundaries between electronic music escapism and film fantasy, Mike and Claire Manumission once again take inspiration from the natural beauty and wonderful hedonism of the White Isle to create a series of events with a brilliant and encapsulating difference — this is definitely one for the creatives.
