EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: NEW RONI SIZE TRACK

Bristol junglist gives us first play of ‘Final Day’

As we reported recently, Roni Size is back with a new album and also news of some live dates for Reprazent — his award-winning live drum & bass band.

And Roni has very kindly given us first play of one of his new tracks — ‘Final Day’, featuring Pete Josef. It's his album's opening track. Hear it below.

Roni has always had broad musical tastes, as befitting someone who gained some of his early musical education at Glastonbury Festival. ‘Final Day’ starts almost folky, with an acoustic guitar and penny whistle backing singer Pete Josef’s harmonic lilt. Then, of course, the junglist bizness kicks in. It’s a track that demonstrates what dynamic form Roni is back in.

Roni’s ‘Take Kontrol’ album is out on August 25th on his own new label, Mansion Sounds.

Meanwhile, Reprazent have just announced their first batch of live gigs.

Roni Size Reprazent will play Warehouse Project in Manchester on 11th October, Village Underground in London on 6th November (pre-sale 31st July, general sale 1st August), In:Motion in Bristol on 6th December (tickets on general sale 31st July). Tickets for Warehouse Project have already sold out. All ticket information can be found here

Reprazent will also be releasing a new single towards the end of 2014 — their first since 2001’s ‘Lucky Pressure’. A Reprazent album and further singles will be released in 2015.

The Reprazent live band now consists of Roni, Dynamite MC, singer Onallee, bass player Si John, Dave Amso, Jay Wilcox and Danny Cox.
