THE GARDEN FESTIVAL GOES OUT WITH A BANG

2015 will see final edition of the enchanting Adriatic celebration

After ten influential years, the much-loved Garden Festival will take place next summer for the very last time.

Having led the way for Croatian festivals in recent years, Garden was the first to cement itself on the Adriatic coast, with the country now standing as a thriving summer hotspot for electronic music gatherings.

This year’s recent July proceedings welcomed the likes of Theo Parrish, Prosumer, Wolf + Lamb, Ben UFO, Soul Clap, Francois K, Craig Richards and Greg Wilson for an unforgettable seven days of bliss that hold the promise of an even greater final year in 2015.

Beginning in 2006 with only 300 visitors, the idyllic week of partying has helped cultivate the Croatian scene and become one of the most renowned sun-drenched festivals in Europe, with the boat parties, beach bar and escapist ideology becoming the stuff of legend.

Nick Colgan, one of the founders of Garden, speaks out about the decision to bring the festival to a triumphant close: “It is true that we have decided next year will be our last ever Garden Festival. It is a decision we have thought long and hard over and do not make lightly, yet we all feel the time is right to conclude what has been an incredible adventure for everyone involved.”

The festival site at Tisno, however, will by no means be closing its doors, with an array of festivals to continue the Garden legacy throughout 2015 and in the coming years.

This final, emotional send-off marks a significant moment in Croatian festival history and will no doubt be a party worthy of its ten years of brilliance.
