VITAL LABEL: DIRT CREW RECORDINGS

This month's most vital label

Who’s behind it?
Peter Gyselaers, aka Break 3000 and part of the Dirt Crew, is the dude currently running the label. “In 2004 we started our little label and had no idea it would take on these proportions,“ Peter says. “We started our little label and had no idea it would take on these proportions. This October we will celebrate our 10th anniversary. After many years of changing music styles and hypes, we are very happy to be stronger as ever — and still up and running.

“
Peter tells DJ Mag that he's pleased that vinyl is back in full force. „We also started our new sub-label S P I E L last year that focuses on more indie and disco-orientated music,“ he says. With recent big albums from Tigerskin and Detroit Swindle, we are also stepping into the full artist albums which is another big leap for us.“

Sounds like?
“The deeper side of house Music, sometimes more disco, sometimes more soulful and on a garage tip. We even enter the techno and Detroit areas on some releases,” says Peter.

Who’s currently on it?
Detroit Swindle, Tigerskin, Till von Sein, Brame & Hamo, Chymera, Ben La Desh, Urulu & Steve Huerta, Downtown Party Network. “Upcoming releases are planned with Kito Jempere, Schmutz and Nachtbraker.”

Who’s playing it?
