DJS UNITE TO FIGHT AIDS

In honor of World AIDS Day, December 1, some of the biggest names in the music and media industry are partnering with Lifebeat to draw urgent attention to the dramatic rise in HIV among young people ages 13-24.

On November 26, Lifebeat will kick-off #MusicFightsAIDS, a multi-faceted campaign that will culminate in a special event featuring superstar producer-DJs Fedde le Grand, A-Trak, Green Lantern, Tritonal, and other special guests. The event will take place on November 30 from 4pm – 12:01 (World AIDS Day) at Pacha NYC, 618 W. 46 St, New York, NY.

Messages in support of #MusicFightsAIDS, will be displayed every two minutes on nine jumbo screens in the heart of Times Square reaching more nearly 2 million people daily. Venues and nightclubs will distribute HIV prevention materials and will activate their promotional and social media channels and encourage their audiences to share a unified message.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that over 2,600 young people ages 13-24 are newly infected with HIV ever day worldwide. Adolescents are the only age group in which HIV-related deaths are rising, and HIV is the second leading cause of death of adolescents worldwide. World AIDS Day is the day set aside to remember the 32 million people who have died, and the 34 million people currently living with HIV/AIDS.
