VITAL LABEL: LAST NIGHT ON EARTH

Novembers edition of Vital Label

Who's behind it?
The label was formed in 2011 by Sasha alongside a tight-knit team of dancefloor regulars in London. Sasha says that he wanted to start a new imprint that was about supporting new electronic music talent, as well as his new productions.

The idea with the label was always to nurture upcoming talented producears and also give me an outlet for my club tracks and remixes,” Sasha tells DJ Mag.

Sounds like?
Hard to pinpoint, but LNOE seems to have a specific feeling and vibe to its output. It's got a very wide variety of sound with many alternate genres but lots of diversity and emotion, layers of depth. “We have always looked for music with a certain musical edge that fits with my love of things with a wonky melodic sound,” says Sasha.

Who's currently on it?
Various artists are on the label including Henry Saiz, Hunter/Game, Ejeca and Alex Niggemann. The most recent release is an EP titled 'Just Too Late For Summer' by Thermalbear. The label has also seen releases by Sasha himself, with a massive remix of Hot Chip 'Flutes' in 2012 and a Bonobo remix in 2013.

Who's playing it?
Sasha loves testing the crowd reactions to the newest releases before they come out, which gives the records great exposure in the clubbing world. They've also had a vast amount of very different artists playing their material over the years including the likes of Mano Le Tough, Seth Troxler, Davide Squillace, Ivan Smagghe, Scuba, Joris Voorn, Dixon, Adam Beyer, T.E.E.D and Breach.

What's next?
There's a variety of projects in the works at the moment, according to LNOE HQ, including some very interesting collaborations with Sasha, an album from Ghosting Season, and EPs from Simon Baker and Joel Mull. They're currently working on release schedules for 2015 and label showcase events around the world.

“I'm very proud of the way the label has grown and developed since its inception,” Sasha tells DJ Mag. “It's ticking along beautifully. We have some really exciting things planned for 2015, some great releases, and I will be collaborating with some of the very talented artists we have championed.”
