Astrix added to SW4 afterparty line-up

Psy trancer announced as special guest

It appears that the promoters of this weekend's sold out SW4 festival have heard our last issue's awesome Astrix covermount CD, for they've just added the psy-trance wizard to the line-up of their afterparty at Brixton Academy at the last minute.

Booked to play after Judge Jules and before God aka Paul van Dyk- the No.1 DJ in our Top 100 poll for the last two years running - this promises to be one of the highlights of this forthcoming bank holiday weekend. Doubling as the launch party of PvD's new fifth artist album 'In Between', Rotterdam trance lord Ronald Van Gelderen also plays the mighty main room alongside local favourites Wynand Delport and Richard Launch.

Party animals PUSH host the foyer, with beat monsters the Stanton Warriors and SOS alongside 2PhUnKeD uP and Aaron Baskerville. There's also two more rooms of underground sounds hosted by Dirty Dubbin, Thirsty DJs and Club 10 to make sure all of dance music's spiritual home is made the most of.

Having shot to No. 41 in our Top 100 in 2006, Avi Schmailov aka Astrix is the world's fastest rising psy-trance superstar. His artist albums 'Eye to Eye' and 'Artcore' have showcased his production genius, while his DJing has been perfected by headlining the world's top psy trance festivals. Having headlined the sell out Psychedelic Academy several times now, he's more than familiar with rocking the stage of Brixton Academy - and we're confident he's going to blow the roof of the place!

Following Astrix, Paul van Dyk will then showcase his new album 'In Between'. His most eclectic album yet, it's full of collaborations with the top names in dance music, including the Pussycat Dolls' Jessica Sutta, David Byrne of genre-defining '80s band Talking Heads, Ashley Tomberlin of Luminary and Alex M.O.R.P.H. Released on August 27 on Positiva, Paul is confident that this is his best album yet - and after hearing one of the rare promo copies we can only agree.

Tickets are available from Ticketweb at www.ticketweb.co.uk or 0844 477 2000 for £25 - but we can't guarantee how much longer they'll be available!
