EDM DJ and Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki is reportedly being sued by a fan who claims to have sustained a broken neck at a San Diego show in 2012.

According to reports, Midwest native Brittany Hickman was injured when Aoki jumped from a speaker into a blow up boat at the Hard Rock Café in San Diego, knocking her unconscious and at risk of paralysis.

Her injury left her in hospital for several days with a broken neck, as well as off work for two months following the incident.

"If I had thrown my arms above my head, reached for something that was too high or picked up something that was too heavy [the doctors] said I could have paralysed myself,” she told ABC News.

Hickman has now filed a law suit against both Aoki and Hard Rock Café, Aoki's legal team and the venue have released statements stating that they cannot comment ahead of the trial date. Although Steve has released this statement - "I would never want anyone to get hurt at any of my shows and feel badly that someone has, but at this time I have been advised by my attorneys to not speak about this as it's going to trial. Thank you for your understanding."
