Premiere: Breen ‘Dips in the Poddle’

Having only launched in 2016, independent online radio station Dublin Digital Radio has quickly become a national cornerstone for Irish electronic, experimental and underground music.
As well as offering a platform for a wide array of DJs, broadcasters and musicians, the station has strived to use its steadily rising influence as a way of enabling its young, determined community to make social change across the capital. Just last week for example, on International Women’s Day (8th March), DDR broadcast 24 hours of content produced and presented by women only, championing female-identifying members of the Irish artistic, musical and activist communities.
Now, the station has shared its first release, a digital compilation comprised of tracks produced by friends and associates of the station including R.Kitt, Lumigraph and Sias Apres Ski. All money raised from ‘ddr. Compilation 01’ will go towards Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) a voluntary-run, non-government funded outreach and advocacy organisation tackling homelessness in Dublin.
Breen’s ‘Dip in the Poddle’ – premiering below – is a frenetic, anxious house cut with crackling, uneasy synth leads skipping and swelling around one another on a bed of infectious percussion.
