It's a new home and new concept for Pepo Lanzoni's cosmopolitan techno haven La Comunidad, as they move to Privilege and launch Imagine.
Building on its ongoing union with Berlin's techno institution Tresor, the Spanish lead, Ibiza-born party has unveiled a techno purist's dream by recruiting Tresor legends like Dave Tarrida, Surgeon, Marc Broom and James Ruskin, whilst still championing the Catalan colours through Oscar Molero and Angel Molina, with island DJs like Nima Gorji and Joseph Rivas offering deep groove-soaked house in the Coco Loco room.

"We're going to focus a bit less on the slightly harder techno sound and move towards a more Detroit and melody focused sound," explains Pepo, whose line-up boasts Detroit legends Octave One and prolific Glaswegian techno veteran Vince Watson. Both purveyors of a warm, deeply melodic but powerful techno sound, their style should sync with Ibiza's sonic waves especially with Octave One's 2000 track 'Black Water' already something of a Balearic anthem.
"A lot of these names just don't feature on the island," laments long-time techno lover Pepo. "For some of them - Octave One, for example - I think it's their first Ibiza gig. It's the only night focusing on this sound."

After moving from Barcelona and DJing at Salinas beach Jockey Club, Pepo launched La Comunidad at Space in 2001, at a time when he felt the island's big clubs were awash with English and German promoters. They soon expanded to embrace the best European and now Detroitian techno talent but this year represents their first move away from Space after last year's unsuccessful venue share with Azuli.
"Privilege are really behind what we're doing and haven't given us pressure to fill the whole club," he continues. "We are going to start small, maybe with 1500-capacity."

Trance überlord Tiësto unveils a full season of epic adventure at Privilege

It's always a tall task taking on the whole of Privilege but if one man can fill the world's biggest club then it's the world's most fanatically followed DJ - Tiësto.
Following two sell-out concert specials last season, this season the Dutch trance titan returns with a weekly residency at the San Rafael megaclub – his first residential Ibiza mooring for some three years.
Running each Monday through the high season, Tiësto's weekly 'In Search Of Sunrise' residency begins 7th July and closes 22nd September, with the trance titan performing four-hour sets each week, alongside handpicked guests Chris Lake, Sander van Doorn and Cosmic Gate.

Tiësto is not only confident of rampant success but also has the balls to remove the glass separating the Coco Loco room and the main room to create an enlarged main arena of nearly 9000-capacity - the only promoter at Privilege to do so.
Production will be also be rocketed to the usual Tiësto mega-standards with futuristic production, the installation of a full L.E.D. back wall, customised visuals and laser display, as well as a newly designed and customised DJ booth.
Looks like Amnesia's Cream and Armada have some competition for the crown of the island's most electrifying trance night.
