PREMIERE: SPECTRASOUL ‘THE MISTRESS’

Out today via Shogun Audio

DJ Mag has snagged the premiere of the title track from SpectraSoul’s new album, ‘The Mistress’, which is out today.

Featuring cushion-soft vocals from Dan Moss, ‘The Mistress’ is a delectable slice of liquid D&B that’ll satisfy even the most ardent bass aficionados, as Moss’ smooth vocals ride along a wave of balmy chords and rolling bass.

The album — which is the follow-up to ‘Delay No More’ —sees the London-based duo deliver a sonically diverse long-play that stays true to their D&B roots. For the album, the duo moved away from the technical side of production to concentrate on the song writing alongside a host of vocalists including Harleighblu, Joshua Idehen, Lilly McKenzie, Tamara Blessa and Dan Moss.

When speaking about 'The Mistress', the duo said, “After 'Delay No More', we found a new workspace; somewhere secluded and that was solely ours - something we'd, unbelievably, never had before.

“In the months that followed, we worked obsessively, and without structure or boundaries, allowing ourselves the freedom to learn and explore again.

"We made a decision to limit our editing capabilities, forcing us to focus on the creative side of songwriting rather than the technical. These new changes to our approach proved significant. And, coupled with contributions from an array of talented and passionate vocalists, they enabled us to realise and ultimately satisfy 'The Mistress'."

SpectraSoul's 'The Mistress' is out June 15th physically and June 14th digitally via Shogun Audio.
