MICHAEL MAYER PICKS HIS TOP SUMMERTIME TRACKS FROM KOMPAKT

Kompakt + summertime = perfection

Michael Mayer is a busy man. Label head of Kompakt and globe trotting DJ, he’s jetting over to Barcelona this week in time for Sonar, as well as spinning at Space Ibiza on Saturday. He’s also just dropped a new EP ‘Time Is Running’, with Kompakt co-owner Reinhard Voigt, just in time for the summer festival season.

On the brink of Mayer’s gigs in in Barcelona, Ibiza and beyond, we caught up with the label boss to find out his favourite Kompakt tracks to spin in the summer months.

Patrice Bäumel ‘The Vanishing’
“Probably the only positive side effect of Trouw’s closure is that Patrice has now got more time to churn out mind-bending big room monsters like this.”

Agoria ‘Baptême’ (Lucky Blue Eyes Version / Agoria Retouch'
“Luke Jenner and DJ Tennis’ remix will be killing them softly throughout summer.”

Terranova ‘Skin & Bones’ feat Lydmoor & Bonne Homme
“The whole Restless album is bloody brilliant, but this one’s a true tear jerker for those magical morning hours.”

Dauwd ‘Jupiter George’
“In times when most music sounds either like prime-time Berghain or early ’90s dream trance someone needs to let the sunshine in.”

Weval ‘Gimme Some’ (Hunter/Game Remix) LISTEN
“Italian masters of melodic techno taking our Dutch boy wonders to the next level.”
