Premiere: Fio Fa ‘Sunday Pledge’

Emerging Dublin label Pear returns with a dazzling EP from co-founder Fio Fa – ‘Sunday Pledge’ is a fiery house cut with a deep, hypnotic edge...

Dublin-based label Pear may have only launched in September 2017, but it is quickly becoming one of Ireland’s most exciting, consistent imprints. Having debuted with one of our Irish acts to get to know, R. Kitt and his ‘Jigsaw’ EP, followed by a syrupy, atmospheric acid release from Glasgow’s Big Miz, the label has wasted no time in establishing itself as a tastemaking platform for melodic house sounds.

Now, the All City affiliated imprint returns with its second release of the year. Following a V/A compilation ‘PAL Vol.1’ in January, Pear’s co-founder Fio Fa has stepped up to deliver a two-shot dose of sizzling house maneuvers in the form of ‘Sunday Pledge’. On the B-Side ‘I’d Like To See Ya Do It’ we find subtle nods to UK soundsystem culture among the melodic trills and low rumbling bass groove.

The title track – premiering below – is a fiery house a cut with warm melodic turns weaving through its swelling bass backdrops and bursting percussion. Nourishing stuff.

‘Sunday Pledge’ is out on 1st June. You can pre-order it on 12” or digitally here
