Premiere: Keinemusik (Rampa, Adam Port, &ME) ‘Lover feat. Jennifer Touch (Gerd Janson Remix)’

Keinemusik’s ‘You Are Safe’ LP was one of our favourites of last year – Gerd Janson’s new remix of ‘Lover feat. Jennifer Touch’ brings club-ready heft to the original's new-wave flair...

Keinemusik’s You Are Safe’ was a feat of sophisticated deep house production. With the label’s core trio of &ME, Adam Port and Rampa (along with the distinct work of visual artist Monja Gentschow) delivering a collection that combed their penchant for percussive, organic electronic groove with moments of new wave and synth pop added for good measure.

Now, the peerless label is set to release the third installment of their ‘You Are Safe’ revisions. Set for release this Friday 11th May, this EP follows remixes from Black Coffee, DJ Tennis and Frankey & Sandrino. Stepping up this time round are the mighty Solomun and Gerd Janson.

Running Back label boss Janson’s remix of of ‘Lover feat. Jennifer Touch’ – premiering below – takes the new wave and avant pop leanings of the original cut and brings it to the dancefloor with pronounced percussion and razor sharp synth and bass stabs propping up Jennifer Touch’s unmistakeable, echoed vocals .

Janson says that the collaboration with Keinemusik came about in Ibiza and “involved a swim, some seafood and a night drive including a police control”. The remix, he says, came from “trying to turn the aforementioned experience into an elaborated and complex piece of music that can be understood by all”.
