Chip E’s ‘Time To Jack’ is often cited as the track that lead to the coining of the term “Jacking” house. Basically, 1985 track holds a fair amount of sway…
Now, 33 years on the mighty Carl Cox has delivered a brand new rework of the track on his own Intec Digital imprint, which he runs with Jon Rundell. Remaining loyal to the bubbling bass and crisp percussion of the original, Cox brings a gritter, modular tone to the fore. It’s marvellous.
The iconic vocal has also been re-recorded, giving new heft to the original cut that remains respectful and devoted to its timeless influence. The B-Side of the release is a dub.
Carl Cox's reworks of 'Time 2 Jack' are out digitally next Friday 18th May. Listen to it below. You can pre-order it here.
The UK legend shared his first d&b mix in almost seven years back in March. Last month, he told us that "techno should scare the shit out of you".
