Premiere: Pional ‘XME’

Spanish producer Pional makes his Phonica Records debut with ‘XME/One Night Stand’. ‘XME’ is a sparkling and warm house affair...

Pional is nothing if not consistent. The Madrid-based producer has been crafting melodic, inviting electronic cuts that work as well on the club floor as they in headphones. With previous releases on revered labels such as John Talabot’s Hivern Discs, Permanent Vacation, Counter and Young Turks and with esteemed remixes of the likes of the XX under his belt, the prolific live artist’s reputation certainly precedes him by now.

Now, he is set to make his debut on London’s much loved Phonica Records with ‘XME/One Night Stand’, a four track EP that offers up two different versions of two themes.

The original mix of ‘XME’  – premiering below – is sparkling and warm with its chiming melody and heady groove. It’s an uplifting and quietly optimistic companion to the ‘A Quiet Ceremony’ mix of the same theme, which slows things down with a much more melancholic mode.

‘XME/One Night Stand’ is out 13th July. Pre-order it here
