Roland and Puma reveal new TR-808 sneakers

Coming hot on the heels of the launch of the RS-0 trainer in April...

Japanese instrument manufacturer Roland and German sportswear brand Puma have announced a second run of their TR-808-themed sneakers.

The follow-up to the RS-0 trainer - which launched in April - the RS-100 also takes its cue from the iconic orange, red and yellow colour scheme of the classic drum machine.

Introduced by the Roland Corporation in 1980, and discontinued in 1983, the instrument became a distinctive centrepiece of the emerging electronic, hip-hop and dance scenes of the 1980s.

In April, Roland and Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo collaborated on three TR-808 t-shirts. The former also teamed up with Adidas for a standalone TR-808-themed shoe last year.

Back in May, Behringer unveiled their TR-808 clone, the RD-808.
