Munich’s Rhode & Brown have been staples on the mighty Toy Tonics label for the past couple of years, brandishing their gossamer house music on a label that thrives in the middle ground between delicate melody and heady groove.
In the latter half of 2016, the duo launched their own imprint, Slam City Jams, on which they have released work from Kassett, Gonima and COEO. Now, they’ve made their debut on their own label with the forthcoming release of the ‘Wave 100’ EP, set to drop next Friday 7th September.
At five tracks, the EP is stacked with the stylistic hallmarks that have come to define the pair, veering from joyous house moments to reserved and atmospheric chill cuts. ‘Sparkle’ – premiering below – is more in the camp of the former, bouncing away on a steady beat with glittery melodic trills giving it the luxurious feel we’ve come to love from the duo.
