WITH a deluge of entries for our Bora Bora, Ibiza, competition, the clear winner was Martyn Brooks, aka Brooksy, from Kidderminster, who wowed the judges with his fresh selection of sun-dappled house and progressive grooves, and he's well chuffed to be jetting out to the White Isle to play at the famous beach bar.
As DJmag went to press, Brooksy beamed: "I'm looking forward to it, too right! You couldn't ask for anything more, could you?" With a love of house since the late'90s, when he was introduced to the sounds of Sasha and Digweed by his older brother, Martyn's cultivated a DJ style of his own, which has seen him rock bars and clubs around his native Kidderminster. And with the Bora Bora win he's already getting offers from promoters for gigs upon his return.
"Coming back, I've got a gig at the Ultra +, at Custard Factory in Birmingham with Audiofly, Darren Emerson and Fergie," reported Brooksy. "Should be wicked!"
Hats off, Brooksy!
