Guaba Beach Bar

It's not all "Ayia Napa, Ayia Napa" when it comes to Cyprus clubbing. Guaba, in the island's second city Limassol, is flying the flag for a more discerning sound. With a bias towards trance, progressive and tech house beats, it's had Steve Lawler, Mat Zo, Andy Moor and Gabriel & Dresden recently, who fly in to play the world-famous Sunday parties on their capacious and well-appointed outdoor beach terrace, a necessarily airy delight in the baking Cypriot heat.

Replete with slick production and crazy-looking dudes in masks blasting ice cannons from the elevated booth, Guaba is a bastion of high-grade clubbing quality in a place starved of the stuff.

In 2012, it's had a refurb, with the beach area spruced up in anticipation of another insane season.

"Guaba has a very special atmosphere, something you won't find anywhere else. Great vibe, nice people, fantastic weather, you can't ask for more!" says Shane 54. "Hands down it's one of the best beach bars in the whole wide world, the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon at."
