Get fried, frazzled and electrocuted!

For those who've been fried, frazzled and scorched by riotous Manchester club night Electric Chair at the Music Box, news that it's to close its doors after 13 years may seem a bitter blow. But the club night, run by Unabombers team Justin Crawford and Luke Cowdrey, is hosting two final spectaculars.

The first, The Last Supper, takes place on 29th December, and welcomes a cavalcade of DJs, many of whom have played at some point through the club's history. Mr. Scruff, Benji B, Dan Idjut, Aim, Greg Wilson, Phil Asher, Ross Allen, Elliot Eastwick and many others are all slated to play - with a special condition.

"To celebrate the end of Electric Chair, we've got loads of DJs playing at the club, and we've asked them all to bring their five favourite records," Cowdrey revealed.

And for their final hurrah, on 26th January - a night called the Execution - it'll be The Unabombers rocking the club all night long with only Kelvin Brown for company. The fact that tickets sold out eight months ago speaks volumes.

Despite the fact that Electric Chair is over, Cowdrey and Crawford are optimistic about the future, with a multitude of other projects ongoing, like their Elektrons production outfit and continuing Unabombers events all over the globe.

"We didn't want it to turn into a case of velvet handcuffs or become too comfortable, we want to be taking risks and moving forward," confessed Cowdrey. "That means more one offs, after-hours things, playing basements again, keeping the whole thing alive. We're also busy with the Elektrons live thing, and doing parties in Ibiza, Croatia, Australia and Japan next year." Tickets for The Last Supper are selling fast, at £17.50, from ticketweb.co.uk.
