Snow wonder we're excited!

Win a set at the super fresh Snowbombing festival in Austria

What's cooler than being cool? Ice cold! And you don't get much chillier than Snowbombing, the après-ski boutique festival that's gone from strength-to-strength to become a unique and spectacular date in the dance music calendar.

Snowbombing 2008 will be the ninth year of the festival, which takes place at the popular party resort of Mayrhofen, Austria, between 31st March and 6th April.

This will be their greatest session yet, with an amazing bill of DJs and artists appearing, as well as an avalanche of new features and attractions to keep you red hot in the winter chill.

Teaming up with some of the UK's best clubs, like Together, Black Rabbit, Issst, Wax:On and Platform 12, Snowbombing has secured some great winter warmers. Just some of the acts slated to appear include funky breaks dudes The Plump DJs, progressive houser James Zabiela, arch pranksters The Cuban Brothers and hip-hop hounds The Scratch Perverts. Drum & bass nuts are well catered for with DJ Marky, Zinc, Marcus Intalex and Nu:Tone all programmed to rock the spot.

House heads needn't fear either, as Lee Burridge, Justin Robertson, Jesse Rose, Trevor Loveys, Prins Thomas, Todd Terje, Greg Wilson, Jon Carter, Bobby M and Kevin Griffiths will all be on hand to keep us bumping.

There are tons more acts to be announced - stay tuned to DJmag for further updates.

Debuting at Snowbombing 2008 will be a special Hacienda party, resurrecting the magic of the iconic Mancunian club with original Hacienda heads Graeme Park and Peter Hook presiding.

The amazing Arctic Disco experience also returns after its successful debut at the last event, but better than ever. What could be more iced-out than hitching a ride on Austria's biggest cable car to a club made of snow, and drinking cocktails from glasses made of ice?! And this time you can stay the night on the mountain, with snowy sleepovers.

Oh, and if you get the time, you might want to get your skis or snowboard on and take advantage of the finest slopes in Austria.

Justin Robertson, a Snowbombing veteran who has played the festival since its inception, returns there in 2008.

Summing up its unique appeal, Justin claimed: "It's in a beautiful setting and it's a great laugh. There's a lot to see, a lot of good DJs and good bands. It's also a good chance to catch up with people. It's sort of an annual pilgrimage, like a big mountainside house party.

"There's nothing quite like it, it's a snowy Ibiza!" grinned Robertson. "I love it, obviously. I've done all of them!"

Getting there is a breeze, with EasyJet chartering flights to nearby Innsbruck - you can pick one up for less than £100. Check out www.easyjet.com or www.ba.com. Packages for the events, including accommodation starting at £219, with various options available, can be found on the website www.snowbombing.com. This is snow joke, be there with bells on!
