Best known for:
Being Steve Angello's younger brother.
Tune of the year:
“AN21 & Max Vangeli feat Rudi 'This Far'.”
Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2011:
What's the future of DJing:
Maybe we can take over the government? We're taking over from the rock stars, so why not?
Angry Birds of course! It's a perfect time killer. A real saver on those long flights!
Discovery of the year:
What can I say? That I'm not immortal and can't tour forever. Had a rough summer, got pneumonia and spent two weeks in an Ibiza hospital. But I'm all good now!
Rediscovery of the year:
My remake of 'Smack My Bitch Up' with Max Vangeli. It has been reborn twice, when we made it last year and when we started playing it at festivals this year again!
When Moby pulled out my USB in the middle of my last song at Ushuaia!
Style or substance:
A mix of both.
I really dislike cats, just don't trust 'em!
“It's been like a dream,” says AN21, reflecting on a year in which he's played over 100 shows and almost finished his debut album with production partner Max Vangeli. “The album will be called 'People Of The Night' after a single we did with Tiësto,” he confirms on the huge collaboration that's set pulses racing, adding that brother Steve and Example are amongst other big guests who “I really can't say yet”. In terms of gigs, playing Sensation White in Amsterdam marked another wish fulfilment. “When I was younger, it was a dream just to go there,” as did Creamfields, while his remix of Pendulum's 'The Island' marked another huge moment. “We've just been concentrating on the album for 14 months,” he concludes. “We're at the stage now where we can decide which tracks to go on, choose the artwork and arrange the tour. That's why it's much more fun to release an album over a single.” So watch out for even bigger things in 2012. JOE ROBERTS
