"I think this has been my best year of DJing ever," beams Mauro Picotto, currently enjoying some family time after another hectic Meganite season on Ibiza.
"For the first time we had Privilege opened at full capacity from 9th June through to the end of September. It's not an easy to club but steadily we've grown into it."

It's been a year of growth and consolidation for the lover of electronic grooves. Both a retrospective and a current artist showcase, Mauro released his 'Now & Then' LP earlier in the year with a spread covering his early-'90s dream-house epic 'Bakerloo Symphony', the dense tribal techno of 'Baugette' and recent works 'Maybe, Maybe Not' and the nagging electroid monster 'Acid Sex'.
Also featured there, Mauro's summer single 'Evribadi' wrapped an infectious Space terrace groove round cute melody clips and a infectious vocal hook - again highlighting the Italian's ability to turn his hand to any number of styles.

The ceaseless gigging documented through his global tour DVD also continued.
"For the first time I really enjoyed playing the States and places like New York," remarks Mauro. "Usually, they're not really into new sounds but they've really opened up. I was playing real underground tracks but they were coming right with me."

Mauro's unstoppable Meganite beast, meanwhile, continues to push its non-purist electronic template across the globe with an arena at Torino's colossal Club to Club festival in November and plans for a four-week run in Mykonos during summer '08.
