"It's been and incredible year," reflects Markus. "I released my second artist album and have been doing some heavy, heavy touring. One of my highlights has been doing the North American gigs, as I haven't done as many there in the past as I would've liked."
The Miami-based Berliner has also been busy in Ibiza with his residency at Amnesia.
"I do the Armada night together with Armin," explains Schulz. "It's been incredible, building every year."

In fact, over the last few years, Markus has become a bit of a key player on the island. On top of his Tuesday night residency, he's been hijacking the Balearic airwaves too.
"It's been fantastic, as it means I have this outlet to express myself," he says. "But it also allows me to give some of these kids a voice - so they can have their music heard."

Markus's label Coldharbour is also going strong, so there's no doubt things are looking peachy for Mr Schulz. But even so, he still feels there is room for improvement on the performance front.
"One of the problems I've had is connecting with the audience when using my laptop," he explains. "But with new hardware and some custom-made equipment, over the next year I'm going to focus on expressing myself more through Ableton."
