As the ultimate resident-done-good it was interesting that Nic Fanciulli spent the year sharing the mixer with poster boy for bedroom DJs, James Zabiela.
"It was long and interesting," Nic says of the One+One tour that saw the pair cover the globe. "It started in March and it just finished last week. It was intense; we were living in each other's pockets. Am I sick of the sight of him? No! He's pretty chilled out so it was cool."
Following the compilation of the same name, the pair travelled the UK for a month, then went to America and lived on a tour bus for another month. Australia, Asia, Europe and Ibiza followed.
"It was a good laugh, a good year," Nic smiles.
While playing, the lads used three DCJ-1000s, a laptop with Ableton, the FX1000, a mini Kaos Pad but just one mixer.
"We also have a DJ Dual Cue 2, which means that we could play at the same time on the same mixer without messing with each other's headphone channels," Nic explains. "So it wasn't one on, one off."
Next year sees the Grammy Award nominated remixer (for the Buick Project version of Tiefschwarz's 'Damage') back in the studio for a new Skylark album and more solo gigs.
