At Creamfields in Poland the sound cut three times while I was playing, I was punched by a technician and when a Polish woman told me I wasn't supposed to be playing at all I gave her the middle finger, which was conveniently caught on camera.

Menno de Jong is amongst the new wave of trance DJs and producers who have emerged from the Netherlands in recent years. Aged 23, he already has an impressive gigging schedule - he was just about to fly off to Argentina when DJmag spoke to him - and his Intuition Recordings imprint is firmly established as a major player. "Calling 2007 a thrilling ride would be an understatement," he claims. "Highlights include playing at Trance Energy, the festival I've worshipped since I was a young clubber, making my debut in Ibiza at Amnesia and playing in just about every corner of the world. I can look back on amazing experiences shared with amazing crowds. "I also released my first mix album called 'Intuition Sessions Volume 1: South Africa' this year," recalls Menno. "It was inspired by a month-long trip I made there, which left me astonished by the sights I had seen and the people I had met. "Next year I'll be starting work on my debut artist album, touring in the US again, making more stops in South America and playing another solo night somewhere at a cool venue in the Netherlands."
