"I think it's been a really, really good year for music, after one or two where it's been, you know, okay," says Hernan Cattaneo.
"The thing is, there are a lot of really good records around, but then you think, 'Okay, where are the fantastic ones?'" Encouragingly, it's been right here in the UK where Hernan's drawn much of his musical inspiration, particularly from labels like Urbantorque, Buzzin' Fly and Emfire.

On the production front, Hernan has been impressed by Anil Chawla, Neil Quigley and the new wave of Israeli producers, and has special praise too for James Zabiela.
"Many people, at first sight, just see his technical side as a DJ, but I think James has a fantastic musical mind too," he says.

Like James, Argentina's biggest DJ export has been hammering the festival circuit.
"The best for me was Balaton in Hungary. SW4 was excellent too; I was a little worried as I had to play an early set, but it was absolutely packed. I had a great time playing there."

Hernan's also release his fourth compilation in as many years - and his second 'Sequential' album for Renaissance.
"The relationship I have with them is really strong," he says. "It's great to find a brand that understands what you like to do." Compiling the follow up will be one of his next priorities, right after he gets to grips with being a new Dad!
"It's going to be crazy, but a different kind of crazy," he beams. "I'm really looking forward to it!"
