It's been another swell year for Scandinavian phenomenon Axwell. Post the huge success of 2007's old skool hardcore/electro conflation 'I Found U' - a record that seemed to cross all musical boundaries - Axel Hadfors has had more bookings than ever, with 2008 a veritable catalogue of highpoints. "We pulled out all the stops at the Swedish House Mafia tent at Creamfields," he tells DJmag. "We had fireworks, cannons and David Guetta as a guest. It was rammed from 4pm onwards. And when we covered for Erick Morillo at his Pacha Ibiza night, it was just an electric vibe." Now, he's bathing in the success of latest smash 'What A Wonderful World', a hook up with fellow house heavyweights Bob Sinclar and Ron Carroll, which sees the trio deliver a technicolour, positive message over a sun-soaked house cut. "They're both extremely talented," says Axwell. "Sinclar is like a work machine. Just when you think that you have him figured out, he surprises you totally and you're like, 'What?'" Another track with Dirty South, 'Open Your Heart', is also doing disco damage, and with his Axtone stable readying a stack of new cuts we're promised a soupcon of smashers before the year is out.
