Aly & Fila
| NEW ENTRY

The first international DJs to come from Egypt, Aly & Fila, aka Fadi Wassef Naguib and Aly Amr Fathalah, have enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame with their pumping, anthemic trance. Since they released their debut single in 2004, they've received support from big trance names like Paul van Dyk and Markus Schulz, and this is the second consecutive year that they've ended up in the Top 100. The duo's gig schedule was busier than ever this year, with shows in places as exotic as Slovakia, Tunisia, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as more familiar cities like Berlin, London and Amsterdam. Despite their non-stop touring, this year they still managed to release the 'Trance World 2' compilation on Armada, put out three singles and remix everyone from Sunlounger, Armin Van Buuren and Ben Gold to Filo & Peri and Lange. "For the rest of the year, gig-wise there is a debut in Norway, France at Les Baines Douches, Romania at Trance Vibrations 2008, Bulgaria at Trance Culture 2008, Czech Republic at Transmission, Estonia, a very big show in Poland, UK gigs including Goodgreef, shows in USA and Canada," they say. Next year doesn't look like it'll be any quieter, with "big shows in Australia, USA, Canada, South America and Europe, summer festivals around the world and a tour of Asia". They also plan to put out their debut album next year, concentrate on more remix work and have "lots more releases to come".
