Style:
Trance in the broadest sense.
Best known for:
My label Intuition Recordings, my enthusiastic DJ sets and my remixes and productions.
Tune of the year:
Skunk Anansie 'Erasure (Richard Durand Remix)' (CDR)
Producer of 2008:
Arnej
First record you ever brought:
Mekka 'Diamondback'
Weirdest thing you've seen all year:
I was playing in Buenos Aries, and during every big track the crowd would all sit down for the break and then jump back up when it kicked back in - that was weird but great!
Top gadget of 2008:
I just got the Virus TI Snow synthesizer. I have the TI already but this one is lighter so I can take it on the road with me. I love it.
Your year in five words...:
Very hectic, but absolutely amazing!
Most important thing you've learnt recently:
Well, I graduated from university this year so I guess that means that I learned something!

Intuition Recordings' main man Menno de Jong is on firing form, as his third year in our poll testifies. The young Dutchman has been busy rocking festivals and clubs across the planet, firing out a string of lush melodic trance belters and maintaining the now infamous Intuition Podcast. "We're currently working on my new mix CD, which is the follow up to 'Intuition Sessions Volume One,'" reveals Menno from his underground studio. "We'll combine the release with a tour, which I'm really excited about. After that, it's all about my debut artist album!" Although the album is in the pipeline, Menno is keen not to be rush the project. "I'm looking to create something really diverse, something that can be played in the car or in a club," he says. "I want to take my time with it and make something that is worth the money that people will pay." What Menno may lack in years - he's 24 - he certainly makes up for in maturity, drive and enthusiasm, and after graduating from University this year he's now free to dedicate himself entirely to music.
