Not one to be constricted by genre, Marco V's found new inspiration this year in the underground machinations of tech-house. "I've always been a DJ that's very diverse, whether it be trance, techno, house, whatever, so I get influences from different styles. I love the flow of the tech-house minimal sound, it's an atmosphere that I really like at the moment." He earmarks Tocadisco as a particular inspiration in this regard. "If you hear his music, it's got real energy and that's coming back into my DJ sets." Though known primarily as a progressive trance DJ, Marco clearly isn't afraid of the funk, and his refreshing approach to dance music has led him on many interesting musical diversions. Not content with just rocking the dancefloor, the Dutch selector decided to take the groove back to nature in 2008 with a spectacular forest rave near his hometown of Noord Brabant. "Just recently I've done my own party outdoors called InCharge Outdoor," Marco affirms. "It's been really amazing, it's the best thing that I can do. It's really special, it's an empty theatre, everyone who comes there is like, 'Wow, that's something different!'" Meanwhile, on the production tip, he's teamed up with kindred spirit Sander van Doorn for a follow-up to their massive 'Organic' collaboration. "Today I'm in the studio with Sander van Doorn doing the follow up to 'Organic', I hope to finish that today, and I'm also working on my artist album, which should be out by the end of the year," Marco tells DJmag.
