There are two sides to every story. So whilst Josh Gabriel might state that the decision to end his partnership with Dave Dresden was a mutual one based on "the desire to explore ourselves", Dresden says: "I would have liked to have carried on. When Gabriel & Dresden bowed out with a farewell gig in Miami, in March, it marked the end of one of progressive house's most successful partnerships and one which will probably see their names linked together in the public mind for some time yet; as the fact they've been voted into the Top 100 together rather than as solo DJs attests. Gabriel has relocated to Amsterdam, released his 'Eight' solo LP and established his own Different Pieces label, whilst Dresden remains in San Francisco where he's working on an album with Morgan Page and vocalist Jan Burton, which he says: "Will continue the Gabriel & Dresden sound of meaningful lyrics and tight production." But whilst both are wary of a conceding their will be a reunion, they haven't completely turned their backs on each other, with hints that they will be releasing an album from their Andain project, as well as the Gabriel & Dresden back catalogue, through their Organized Nature label in the future.
